So, let’s go back a few years. I first met Deanne while working at the same company. We were always so quiet around each other; in fact, I don’t think we ever spoke until we had orientation together. In that first meeting, I nearly choked on my uvula. Don’t ask me why but I held my cough in during our orientation. I’m sure it sounded awful because she was the first to say, “are you OK?!” with so much concern. How embarrassing! I tried to play it cool though, lol.
From then on we were acquainted :) We talked about our lives, her move from Las Vegas, complaints about work, about our S.O.’s, etc. but mostly complaining to each other about work. Haha! But only because we were working two jobs, holding down a family and going to school all at the same time. Ya know, I don’t think we ever stopped talking no matter what the subject was. & then I met the rest of the gang! I’ve seen Sophanna around town but I never really knew him until I met Deanne. He’s so chill, got the biggest smile, & got SO much love for his family. Then there’s Kadan. He is a lighthearted, charming fella. Throwing his rocks, doing karate, racing, making me chase him, ya’know… kid stuff that I absolutely adore. Seriously the brightest kid I know. They’ve got such a peaceful energy about them that is truly unique to me :)
As you can already guess, the C family is really special to me (whether they know it or not). Did I mention that since I began my journey in photography “professionally”, I’ve been photographing the C-family? It is always a great feeling to be surrounded by such warmth & trust. I am fortunate to know the Chuop’s. Really, I am.
The Chuops: Thank you for being a cool ass family (S’cuse my lango). Thanks for being so perfect. Thanks for having such a cool kid. & Thanks for choosing me to capture it all.
Lots of love!
